Pile testing specialists NDT have taken delivery of the very first Titan 650.
The Nottingham based pile testing business were the very first customers to attend a Titan 650 demonstration – and they were so impressed they placed an order immediately.
Non Destructive Testing Services Ltd, known better as NDT, took delivery of the fully automated and unmanned static pile testing system two weeks ago. and have been using it on sites around the country.
They have been using it on sites around the country with support from the team at Atlas Pile Testing Systems.
The Titan 650 is a state-of-the-art static load testing system, fully compliant with the Institute of Civil Engineers Specification for Embedded and Retaining Walls (ICE SPERWall) Third Edition.
It is the result of two years worth of development by Atlas Pile Testing Systems, a company led by Rory O’Rourke, CEO of the Datum Group.
O’Rourke, said: “Interest in the new Titan 650 has been unprecedented both in the UK and overseas, with export having been secured to China.
“However, I am delighted that NDT Services Ltd has become the first customer to take delivery. In fact, this is just the first of several that NDT Systems has placed on order.
“The Titan 650 been long in development and now sets the standards for safety, accuracy and control, having the capacity to deliver precise loads for testing in a range of applications from soil nails to large diameter pile foundations, as well as having a wireless control system that facilitates rapid set up and precise control.”
The Titan 650 contains a number of key features including:
- safety (removing operatives from a high-risk environment)
- accuracy (precise increments of load and pile displacement measurements)
- transparency (designers can view live data and amend the test in the field, remotely)
- expediency (a test controller can be located anywhere in the world)
- efficiency (tests are completed quicker and more directly).
John Purser, Director of NDT Services Ltd said: “As soon as NDT was introduced to the Titan 650 system we recognised the immediate benefits it provides. Advancement in load application, autonomous control, viewing of test performance and above all test safety marked a significant advancement in static pile test methodology.
“NDT and Atlas Pile Testing Systems have successfully deployed the Titan 650 system on live static test pile projects throughout the UK – both companies will use real test data to continually advance and improve the system.”
The result of over 20-years of piling sector experience, utilising the latest innovations and technology the Titan 650 is a fast, reliable, smart and safe pile testing system that offers many advantages over existing pile testing methods.
