Freshers arriving at Preston UCLAN had the best possible start yesterday as they met The Chinese Buffet.
They were handed discount vouchers for the latest venue to open in the ever expanding The Chinese Buffet chain.
Students will be given 10% off ALL DAY Monday to Thursday at the stunning new The Chinese Buffet in the St George’s shopping centre on Friargate.
Paolo Hu, co-owner of The Chinese Buffet, was personally on hand to meet the students at 53 Degrees venue and was rushed off his feet with enquiries.
He said: “We were delighted to be part of the day but to be honest I didn’t quite expect it to be as busy as it was! It was incredible.
“Some of the students seemed more eager to collect the discount vouchers for our new restaurant than they did to collect their books!
“We also had lots of enquiries from students hoping for part-time work and hopefully we have managed to create a few vacancies.
“It feels very rewarding to be able to provide something that Preston has been missing, namely a high quality but keenly priced buffet style restaurant.
“We are very proud of our latest venue in Preston and we hope the students studing at UCLA will enjoy their experience at The Chinese Buffet.”
Students queued for hours for their place inside the 53 Degrees Student Union – a venue that is more used to hosting late night concerts and discos.
Local businesses handed out vouchers and discount cards and even religious leaders and help groups were on hand to talk to students.
The Chinese Buffet stall however appear to attract a following all of it’s own and it is clear a new partnership has been formed in Preston.
