THE Chinese Buffet have signed a major sponsorship deal with UTV Media bringing War of the Workplace to more than 167,000 listeners in the North West.
The ever expanding restaurant chain has joined forces with award winning radio presenter Tony Horne to back his popular day time quiz across three radio stations.
Tower FM, Wire FM and Wish FM will feature the daily battle between two local businesses live on air – with the winning team at the end of the week crowned the champions.
The victorious team will be awarded a free meal for ten people – at a The Chinese Buffet venue of their choice.
The Chinese Buffet Managing Director Peter Wu said: “We are delighted to partner Tower FM, Wire FM and Wish FM by backing The War of the Workplace.
“We sponsored the feature on Tower FM in Bolton and it has proved incredibly popular – and we are delighted that the feature will now run across all three radio stations.
“Tony Horne is a fabulous presenter and the quiz has taken on a life of it’s own – and it means the winning team can celebrate in style every week at one of our venues.”
The Chinese Buffet was launched in Bolton in 2006 and enjoyed incredible success before a second restaurant was opened in Wigan.
National Ambitions For The Chinese Buffet
Convinced they had found the winning formula the restaurant owners unveiled ambitious plans to develop The Chinese Buffet into a national chain.
Venues in Preston, St Helens, Wigan and Wakefield have since been opened with a seventh restaurant – Halifax – poised to open in January.
Work will begin in Wrexham in the Spring and Warrington later in the summer with a tenth restaurant potentially planned for late 2013.
The Chinese Buffet have worked tirelessly to shatter the image of ‘buffet-style’ restaurants providing high quality food in stylish settings – whilst keeping prices low for customers.
The War of the Workplace radio sponsorship with UTV is the perfect partnership for The Chinese Buffet given it will be heard by more than 167,000 listeners across the North West.
DJ Tony Horne, said: “There is no other quiz like this. I know War of The Workplace was a key part of the show being recently named UTV Show of the Year.”
“The official audience ratings (RAJAR) also show a massive audience increase during this hour of the show.”
“I’m delighted The Chinese Buffet have agreed to extend their sponsorship of this slot. It’s a great prize and a win-win for everybody”
DJ Horne has made the quiz a major part of his radio show – and incredibly it is the answers competitors get wrong that seem to go down best.
Each week the DJ releases montages of some of his favourite moments from the quiz – which attracts almost as many listeners as the peak breakshow slot.
The War of the Workplace has become the most listened to section of the entire radio station. Now DJ Horne and The Chinese Buffet and Horne have big plans for 2013.
