Oliver Norwood is footballer born in Burnley, made in Manchester but now looking to make history with Reading and Northern Ireland.
The midfield general spent more than 15 years learning his craft at Old Trafford, the Theatre of Dreams under the watchful eye of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
But having climbed through the ranks to skipper the United reserve team he was given the devastating news that his United journey would go no further.
Norwood spoke exclusively Onside PR as part of the ‘PN Meets…’ feature for PharmaNutricals, the UK’s fastest growing brand of sports supplements, nutrition partner to Reading Football Club.
He talked about United, his struggle to adapt to life away from Old Trafford, his hopes and dreams for Reading FC, his determination to get the team back to winning ways and his history making season with Northern Ireland.
He added: “It has (made me grow up). I’ve spoken about it, I perhaps worried too much about what other people thought and to be honest now I’m not really too fussed about anyone outside of the football club thinks.
“You have to be like that, you can worry about what other people think about you, how you perform, you can only worry about inside the football club and that is something I’ve learned to live with and I do know.
