Ambitious and hungry for success! The Chinese Buffet are celebrating seventh heaven.
The North West chain celebrated the opening of their fifth restaurant by submitting plans for a seventh in North Wales.
Media organisations in Wrexham reported this week that panning applications have been submitted by The Chinese Buffet to transform the basement of the former Woolworths.
The 25,000 sq foot venue has remained empty since the superstore closed in January 2009 – though the upper level was taken on by Discount UK in August 2011.
A report to the council says: “The proposal is to form a restaurant using just over half of the space in the basement area.
“The proposal has been made to provide full access to the basement area and bring back into use a vacant unit.
“The site has good nearby car parks and on-road parking within easy walking distance.
“The site also benefits from good transport links.”
It is expected that planning permission will be granted as the chain plan only minor changes to doors and a new colour scheme for external fascias.
The property is situated on the basement of 8-12 Regent Street although access would be via the two staircases on Lord Street.
