HIT comedy Mount Pleasant have filmed scenes at Woodford Aerodrome.
The Sky Living smash hit jumped at the chance to use the former BAE Systems site to film for Series 2 of the British comedy-drama.
Tiger Aspect Productions choose Woodford as the idea location for a day’s shoot given it’s privacy and endless space.
Locations manager Danny Hussain said: “We were delighted to be able to use the site. Previously as it was a top secret military establishment there was clearly no chance but now the site is available it was the perfect option.”
Tiger Aspect were able to bring in their entire set for a day’s filming for the show, created by Sarah Hooper.
It is one of the few new television comedy series that has been commissioned and aired on a Sky1 in 2011, and Sky Living from 2012 onwards.
The show is about the day-to-day life of the main character Lisa, her husband, parents, as well as neighbours, and colleagues.
Each episode is an hour long (including adverts) and takes place in various locations, including the cul-de-sac Lisa lives in, her workplace, local pub The Dog and Dart, and her widowed friend’s café.
The series is produced by Tiger Aspect Productions for Sky1.
It was filmed in Hale, Trafford, Chorlton, Manchester, and at The Sharp Project studio in Newton Heath, Manchester, throughout June 2011.The Second series was filmed throughout March , April and May 2012.
