Buffet Chain Choose West Yorkshire for Sixth Venue
Press Release: 05/02/2013
HALIFAX will celebrate the Chinese New Year in style next week – with the opening of The Chinese Buffet new £1million restaurant.
The much talked about chain finally opened it’s doors at the Broad Street Plaza complex on Saturday to the delight of hungry Halifax diners.
Diners queued from 4.30pm to ensure they were among the first to sample the Eastern delights of the lavish buffet style restaurant – six days ahead of it’s official opening.
Managing Director Peter Wu, said: “It was amazing to see how many people came – especially when you consider we deliberately didn’t publicise the fact we were opening.
“Saturday was supposed to be a soft launch ahead of our VIP Opening this coming Friday but the response was incredible – the restaurant was completely full by 7pm complete with three birthday parties!
“We are incredibly proud of the new restaurant. It has been frustrating that we were unable to open before Christmas but hopefully everyone will agree it will be worth the wait.”
The Mayor and Mayoress of Calderdale, Cllr John Hardy and Mrs Janet Hardy will officially open the Halifax venue on Friday February 8th at 16.00 – the day before Chinese New Year.
Expanding
Halifax is the sixth restaurant to be added to the ever expanding The Chinese Buffet chain which also boasts venues in Bolton, Preston, St Helens, Wakefield and Wigan.
Wrexham and Warrington will follow in 2013 as the determined owners move forward with their ambitious expansion plans that will ultimately evolve into a nationally recognised chain.
The Halifax venue has created more than 40 new jobs and provided the town with a stunning 8000 square foot Chinese restaurant – though a slow boat from China literally nearly scuppered their plans to open.
“We can smile about it now but it was pretty frustrating,” Mr Wu added.
“The saying is supposed to be a slow boat to China but it was the other way around for us as we were caught up with some issues back in China. It mean’t the container, packed with all of our furniture and kitchen equipment wasn’t sent when it was supposed to have been.
“It was frustrating as the restaurant itself has been ready to go for some time but we were then forced to wait until after Christmas and the Chinese New Year provided us with the perfect opportunity to launch.
“The response already has been amazing, we have been bombarded with requests and interest about the restaurant on our Facebook site for months – it’s great to finally open the doors.”
Teppanyaki
The Chinese Buffet provide an incredible array of Chinese food – and also boasts a theatre style Teppanyaki grill which allows diners to watch as their food cooked before their eyes.
There is also a smaller selection of English and other Eastern choices including Sushi, Indian and Thai – to ensure there is something for everyone.
Each restaurants boats a pancake station, an ice cream factory and more than 30 stunning deserts – all handmade by incredible chefs.
Dishes are freshly prepared each day using the finest ingredients and served in stunning surroundings – yet the prices remain low.
Mr Wu, added: “We believe we have the formula for success. We were determined to shatter the image of the buffet style restaurants and we have.
“There number of customers that return week in week out prove that beyond any doubt and those that were perhaps sceptical about what they would find are pleasantly surprised.
“We are very proud of our business and we are delighted to finally be part of the Halifax community. We look forward to showing Halifax that we aren’t just any buffet, this is The Chinese Buffet.”
The Halifax restaurant forms part of the £40 million Broad Street Plaza development which also boasts a TGI Fridays, Nando’s, a 100 bed Premier Inn hotel, Vue Cinema, Pizza Express and an NHS drop in centre.
