ICP Networks were called up by Man City to present the supporters Goal of the Season award.
The South Manchester based IT and Networking specialists were selected by the Premiership champions to join their pre-season launch celebrations as a thank-you for supporting their CITC – or City In The Community – foundation over the past 12 months.
ICP Networks MD Matt Archer has pledged to support CITC for four years, providing the charity with vital funds and IT support as they bid to provide support to thousands of children across the Greater Manchester area.
They in turn asked ICP Networks to present the Goal of the Season award to star midfielder Samir Nasri, who was selected by Man City supporters for his stunning League Cup winning strike against Sunderland last season.
Matt Archer, explained: “We were thrilled to be invited by Man City to join their pre-season celebrations, it was a real unexpected honour but one of course we were delighted to accept.
“We are very proud of our association with CITC and the fabulous work they do supporting young and under privileged people across the Greater Manchester region and we look forward to working together with their team for many years to come.
“City Live was a fantastic event and it was a very special moment for us to be able to play a small part in proceedings by presenting Samir Nasri with his Goal of the Season award.”
City Live is billed as the pre-season curtain raiser by Manchester City, a celebration of last seasons title winning success and a first opportunity for supporters packed into the Manchester Central venue, the former GMEX centre in Manchester, to catch a glimpse of the the new City signings.
Comedian Jason Manford hosted the event with former Smiths legend Johnny Marr taking centre stage as the headline act ahead of the new season kick-off.
ICP Networks have already provided tablets, used to deliver lessons in health, education and sport to the children, as well as two new vans and a mini-bus. The IT and Networking specialists have agreed a four year partnership with CITC.
