Onside founder James Fletcher has joined the team tasked with building a brave new future for the former BAE site at Woodford in Cheshire.
He has been hired by business associates Harry Harvey and Jo Bamford as they strive to complete the deal to purchase the historic venue.
Fletcher has been installed as Operations Director at Woodford and will coordinate all media activity at the site that was formerly owned by BAE Systems.
The purchase will provide new hope for the local community as the team look to develop an exciting plan for the 500 acre site.
Full details will be published in the New Year but it is hoped the plan will include a beautiful new heritage centre, new housing and exciting leisure and recreational facilities including an equestrian centre, polo venue, and possible film studio.
The new owners intend to retain the runway at Woodford ensuring the site’s links with the aviation industry are retained.
The scheme will create thousands of new jobs and will satisfy public demand for more access to open space.
