North Country Quality Foods and North Country Cooked Meats will go into liquidation.
The directors of the two businesses have ceased trading immediate and will appoint administrators.
They will go into liquidation following a sustained period of voluntary closure meaning a loss of 46 jobs.
North Country has been unable to trade for almost two months following the outbreak of listeria in sandwiches supplied to NGS patients.
They voluntarily ceased production and distribution of cooked meat products on June 3rd and the delay means the business is no unsustainable.
Six people have died after eating pre-packed sandwiches supplied by The Good Food Chain. They used meat products supplied by North Country.
Both companies have been assisting with an investigation by the Food Standards Agency and Public Health England into the listeriosis outbreak.
The source of the outbreak is still yet to be found and the investigation has been extended to examine the business supply chain.
There will no further comment from North Country Quality Foods or North Country Cooked Meats.
The liquidation will be handled by Duff & Phelps
