Protect24 have appointed Onside PR to manage their PR and marketing.
The North West based business are the UK’s first providers of bespoke fire protection packages for social housing.
Protect24 retrofit sprinkler systems to high rise social housing tower blocks and crucially, provide the funding for local authorities to carry out the work.
They have already started work on a £6 million package designed to provide fire protection systems to social housing residents in Greater Manchester and Liverpool.
Protect24
Protect24 will retrofit sprinkler systems to 17 multi-storey social housing residencies in Salford and Knowsley, providing protection for residents living in 1,300 homes owned and operated by the City West Housing Trust.
The buildings range from 10 to 20 storeys in height and the program of works will take around 12 months to complete.
Onside PR will work with the Protect24 team to launch the Protect24 shaping their PR and marketing strategy, coordinating media interest and managing the brand.
Wilmslow based design agency Run Creative have creating a bespoke website which will be live in the coming weeks.
Protection
Onside PR founder James Fletcher, said: “I’m excited to work with the Protect24 team. It is a fascinating project that really can change lives and offer protection to those in need.
“The Protect24 offering is a brilliant proposal that removes all the obstacles, that I can see, that would cause local authorities or housing associations to delay the retrofitting of sprinkler systems and fire protection measures.”
Prior to 2007 developers did not have to install sprinklers into buildings of multi-dwelling units of more than six storeys – and as a result, of the estimated 4,000 blocks that provide social housing in the UK only 2% are said to include sprinkler protection.
Crucially, Protect24 provide local authorities and social housing associations with the funds they need to install such systems – with borrowing offered at existing rates of lending.
