O’Rourke, said: “It is a very proud moment for me personally and a great honor for The Datum Group to be featured by the Parliamentary Review.
“It is quite humbling to be honest but we have a terrific group of staff and this is recognition of the great work they do.
“We have a come long way in our 18 years and I’m not sure when I started the company I ever felt I would be mixing with MPs, dignitaries and some of the best business minds in Britain at Westminster!”
O’Rourke outlined his vision for the future in the Parliamentary Review and called for more commitment to High Speed Two, upgraded transportation links and mobile connectivity.
O’Rourke, said: “Having grown organically and self-funded our expansion, perhaps our growth has not been so meteoric but it has been assured.
“I have never worried too seriously, or become too excited for that matter, about what plans or policies the UK government of the day has had.
“Given an opportunity to speak plainly with the Government, I would recommend that they do not over promise, but to deliver on what they commit, and in the timescale agreed.
“In fairness, (to government) this has generally happened but, recently perhaps, plans are declared with a fanfare and then take an age to happen. This leaves business and entrepreneurs nervous and a little reluctant.
“Even with the commencement of High Speed 2 well underway, we still hear murmurings from government, or the opposition, about whether it is really needed. This doesn’t help industry or those working in it.
“Upgraded transportation networks and 4G connectivity for all, are not only key from my industry, but for every other sector too.
“These improvement opportunities could quickly become liabilities and have wider repercussions for the country’s productivity as a whole if we fail to progress them.”
