The WASP will be winging its way into action in the UK and overseas after confirming its first orders.
Eight WASP units have been ordered ahead of its official launch after it’s staring role in Operation Unified Response.
Wasp, Warning Alarm for Stability Protection, is a genuine world first and has been snapped up by three UK based fire services and two international forces and will be shipped in the coming weeks.
Proud
WASP co-founder Matt Keogh, said: “It is a very proud moment for me personally having worked so long to see this dream become a reality.
“The fact that these orders have been received even before the WASP is officially launched is testimony to the capability of the device – and proves the need for a device like this.
“The team at DATUM Monitoring who have turned my dream into an actual physical, working product deserve huge credit.
“The WASP is exactly as I envisaged it to be, it is small, portable, sturdy and hugely practicable but crucially will help to keep emergency service workers safe in a variety of scenarios.”
Forces
It is envisaged the units will be shipped in May 2016 and there are a number of other interested forces considering placing early orders.
The WASP is the result of the collaboration between Keogh, a serving fire fighter with Greater Manchester fire and renewed international search and rescue specialist and Rory O’Rourke, CEO and founder of DATUM Monitoring, UK industry leading monitoring and surveying experts.
