DATUM Engineering manager Dave Pilkington swapped theodolite for microphone for a film shoot.
The geotechnical and monitoring expert stepped out of his comfort zone and faced up to the cameras in a two-day shoot with Onside PR.
Dave joined the Onside team to film four case studies on location in the North West of the UK which will form part of the new look DATUM website and marketing material.
The team travelled to Tebay in The Lakes to showcase DATUM’s work in monitoring a collapsed hillside caused by the 2015 Boxing Day floods.
Torrential
After a three-hour drenching in torrential rain it was off to Whalley in Lancashire and ongoing monitoring of the town’s historic viaduct.
Then our team transferred to a Lancashire railway track before completing the mammoth two-day stint at a wind farm.
Dave, said: “It made a change from my usual job but it was throughly enjoyable – hopefully I made a bit of sense on the camera.
“It’s funny, the team at DATUM are experts in our field with huge amounts of experience but the minute the camera is rolling it is easy to clam up!
“Hopefully the videos will be enjoyable to watch, no doubt the out takes will be even better!”
